The Sri Prema Charitable Trust is an Indian charitable organisation, non-profit in nature, which promotes the spiritual growth and social welfare of every individual regardless of gender, age, religion, social class, ethnicity, or nationality. The association is founded on the Human Values of Sathya, Dharma, Shanti, Prema and Ahimsa (Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love and Non-Violence) and its primary aim is to provide free and selfless service for the benefit of Humanity.
The Sri Prema Charitable Trust is based in the Indian state of Karnataka, where it carries out its mission and has established a model village in a rural, impoverished and underserved area characterised, as in much of India, by fee-based schooling and healthcare, which severely disadvantages the poorest social classes. For this reason, the Trust will provide free accommodation, education and healthcare with a spirit of service, so that even the less fortunate may find hospitality there.
The project envisages the construction of a school, a small hospital, a canteen, a multipurpose hall, an auditorium, staff housing and an orphanage, as we believe that service rendered to mankind is service rendered to God. All facilities will be simple and functional, free from unnecessary extravagance, but equipped with modern, efficient equipment and up-to-date technologies. This will enable the provision of emergency care, essential medical assistance, hospitality and food distribution for the poor, vocational training, cultural activities, spiritual growth, together with all the necessary services to guarantee autonomy, independence and immediate usability of the facilities.
The village will be created exclusively on the basis of voluntary contributions, without recourse to any government aid or profit-driven/commercial funding, relying solely on spontaneous donations made out of Love for Humanity. The use of funds will be entirely transparent, allowing anyone to review donations received and expenses incurred.
Anyone with time, willingness and courage is welcome to join this venture of solidarity and humanity, in the grand vision of working to build a better future for society — for a new era and a new time of hope, sharing and peace. We believe in the power of “Prema” (a Sanskrit term meaning Love in its highest sense). We are determined to be guided by this Love in achieving such an inspiring and luminous goal — a service to and for Humanity that represents an opportunity for human and spiritual growth, nourishment for the body, heart and soul of both giver and receiver.
